Following ongoing outreach and constructive dialogue with Chairman Sanders and other Members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), we have agreed that interim chief executive officer Howard Schultz will testify on behalf of Starbucks at a hearing scheduled for March 29, 2023.
In communications dating back to April 2022, we have offered to make company executives available to discuss our efforts to uplift our more than 450,000 global Starbucks partners – culminating with our March 2, 2023 offer to make executive vice president and chief public affairs officer AJ Jones II, interim executive vice president and general counsel Zabrina Jenkins and vice president of partner and labor relations May Jensen available to address workforce policy matters of interest to the Committee.
Through the agreement reached today, our testimony will seek to foster a better understanding of our partner-first culture and priorities, including our industry leading benefit offerings and our long-standing commitment to support the shared success of all partners.
